My Android App

I like to challenge myself. I like to learn – so I like to try new things and try to keep growing. This year, I must say, that I have been trying new things. I started with Web development/design and now I’m done with mobile app development. I thank God for that. Here is my own app, a mobile application version of my own blog. You can try it out and tell me what you think. Download it here.

FIFA 18 demo: Release date, how to download, storage needed, teams, star players and early access.

Hi gamers,

Good news. FIFA 18 is only seven weeks away – but you won’t have to wait until September 29 to get your craving hands on the game.

If previous years are anything to go by, the FIFA 18 demo will arrive around September 15 – an immense two weeks before the launch.

The FIFA 17 demo arrived on September 13, with the full game arriving on September 27. FIFA 16 followed the same motif, with the demo arriving on September 8 and the game released on the 22nd.

Quick Notes.

  • Demo to be released on September 15.
  • Cristiano Ronaldo will be the best player.
  • EA to launch private beta on August 18.
  • Teams will include Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Manchester United.
  • A section of The Journey: Hunter Returns will be playable.
  • EA Access members will be able to play the game for 10 hours – ONE WEEK before FIFA 18 is released.

Here are some of the key things you need to know about the demo and the release of the game.

How will the game be downloaded?

The demo will appear in Origin, PS Store and Xbox Live. It’ll be ‘Featured’ and therefore should be easy to find.

How long will it take to download?

I don’t know how big the file will be but make sure to download it as soon as it’s released. What I’m certain of is that the servers will be under strain given just how many people will be downloading it, so the earlier, the better.

So, what will be in the demo?

If it’s the same build EA have been showing off at their preview events, you’ll be able to play as a number of teams including Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, PSG and Juventus.

Here’s the full line up:

  • Manchester City
  • Manchester United
  • Chelsea
  • Real Madrid
  • Atletico Madrid
  • Juventus
  • Bayern Munich
  • PSG
  • LA Galaxy
  • Toronto FC

Is there absolutely no way you’ll be able to play FIFA 18 earlier?

If you’re lucky, then yes.

Sadly, for most gamers looking to get their hands on FIFA 18 early in the form of the beta – you’re going to have to wait a little longer.

EA has overhauled the way its allowing access this year – so rather than casting the net wide, only specially selected players by EA Sports are going to get a chance to play it early. That means if you haven’t heard yet, then you’re unlikely to have made the cut. Writing on the FIFA 18 forums, EA told fans: “This year we’ve removed registration. We’re emailing selected players with their Beta codes. We only have enough codes for the players that we sent emails to. If you didn’t get an email with a code, our Advisors won’t be able to give you one, nor do we have any available on the forums.”

For those who can’t get their hands on the closed beta then you’ll have to wait for the demo, which drops a few weeks later.

And who will be the best player on the demo?

The best player on the demo will be FIFA 18 cover star Cristiano Ronaldo – although his rating on the preview build was to be confirmed.

Cristiano Ronaldo: FIFA 18 Cover Star.

If you’re desperate to get your hands on the game, sign up to EA Access to play FIFA 18 five days before launch for a full 10 hours.

What platforms is FIFA 18 on?

FIFA 18’s lead consoles will be the Xbox One (Scorpio) and PS4 Pro.

It’ll also come on on Xbox One, Ps4, PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Nintendo Switch.

In other words, it’ll be a completely different game.

So, will it look better on current-generation platforms?

In short, yes – but don’t expect a huge improvement. It’ll be powered by the same engine.

FIFA 17 was the first game in the series to be powered by Frostbite – which replaced Ignite used the previous year.

While graphics took a boost this year, especially facial and player animations, FIFA 18 will see more subtle improvements as it’ll run on the same Frostbite 4 engine.

Expect player movement and animation to look sharper – not to mention greater detail and likeness.

Other peripheral graphical tweaks, such as improved crowd detail, will also be present.

PS4 Pro owners and PC gamers will once again receive the best-looking versions of the game.

The former will once again capitalize on ‘Pro Mode’ – allowing for increased detail and more stable frame rate at above 1080px resolution.

What about Legends – are they making a return?

FIFA 18 has ditched Xbox exclusive Legends in multi-platform Icons.

As well as Ronaldo Nazario, the first wave of Icons will feature:

  • Pele
  • Diego Maradona
  • Lev Yashin
  • Thiery Henry
Ronaldo Nazario

David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldinho are also rumoured to be on the way.

Will it play the same as FIFA 17?

FIFA 17 has come under fire for some aspects of its game-play – but as FIFA 18 will be powered by the same engine, I doubt much will change here.

Input delay – the time it takes for a button press to translate into an on-screen action – has led to some negative feedback in FIFA 17.

There have also been claims of ‘EAaids’ or ‘scripting’, which refers to the game dynamically adjusting online matches to favour weaker players.

When will it come out?

FIFA 18 launches on September 29.

Will Cristiano Ronaldo still be the best player?

It’s been an incredible year for the Portuguese, so he’ll definitely remain the game’s best player in FIFA 18.

But I believe he may have a stats downgrade, though – especially with regards to his pace and dribbling.

Lionel Messi, who has been in blistering form of late, I think will keep second spot.

It was too late for one man kick offs to feature in FIFA 17 – but will they come along this year?

The change in football laws came into effect at the start of the 2016/17 season, but too late for EA Sports to implement the change into FIFA 17 .

Fortunately, they have included the new rule into the game, meaning players will be using the one-man kick-off system in all matches. Amazing.

Will free kicks and penalties stay the same?

Penalties won’t change much, but free kicks could see a revamp.

The new “momentum” system that governs the set-pieces is incredibly hard to master and has been panned by FIFA players.

As a result, I’d expect this to revert back to the more “traditional” shot power and curl mechanic.

How much will it cost?

FIFA 18 will cost around £49.99 – but given the demand, some outlets may undercut this.

We expect the cheapest the game will go for at launch to be around £45.

When will pre-orders start?

FIFA 18 pre-orders have kicked off now.

There are three editions: Ronaldo (Deluxe) and ICON (Super Deluxe) Editions. You can find more information by visiting the FIFA 18 website.

Here are some of the things that the fans would like to see addressed in FIFA 18:

There’s quite a few things that annoyed gamers like me with FIFA 17.
Here are the main ones that I think the developers are likely to address:

Long Shots – from 45 yards
These find the back of the net far too often. It’s largely because goalkeeper AI isn’t up to scratch, meaning they spend too often standing still before attempting a dive. The shots themselves are way too accurate – so incorporating more human error would make things more realistic.

Keepers Mechanics and goal line technology
In penalties, the keepers sometimes do not save the ball despite the fact they dive in the correct direction.
During open gameplay, they also get confused about when they should punch or catch a ball – the former often resulting in the ball landing to an opponent.
The goal-line technology system is also incredibly erratic.

Player animations
When a player is fouled, the ‘complain’ animation takes far too long – taking them out of the game for a noticeable period of time.
This needs to be shortened.
Defensive AI
The CPU AI is far too good at defending, so much so that it’s often more effective to put the controller down and let it do the work.
This needs to be toned down so it doesn’t feel that you’re trying to beat the computer as well as the human opponent.

Well those are some of the issues I’d love seen addressed. Kindly feel free to add some on the comment box.

I am a lover of FIFA. I also can’t wait to lay my hands on the video game.

“The major problem— one of the major problems, for there are several—one of the many major problems with governing people is that of whom you get to do it; or rather of who manages to get people to let them do it to them.

To summarize: it is a well-known fact that those people who must want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it.

To summarize the summary: anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job.”

~Douglas Adams

“Elections belong to the people. It’s their decision. If they decide to turn their back on the fire and burn their behinds, then they will just have to sit on their blisters.”

~Abraham Lincoln

“When one with honeyed words but evil mind persuades the mob, great woes befall the state.”

“Election days come and go. But the struggle of the people to create a government which represents all of us and not just the one percent – a government based on the principles of economic, social, racial and environmental justice – that struggle continues.”

~Bernie Sanders

The Suicide Note.

He has read stories. Stories about why people write. And in one way or another, he feels related to some of them. He writes too. A couple of months ago, he wrote an article about why he writes. He said things. He outlined reasons. Reasons why he writes. He even stated how he started to write. How he began sharing his thoughts with the world. There is one more reason why he writes. Something that he doesn’t consider a problem. Because to him it, isn’t a problem. Well, that depends on how you’ll treat it.

The suicide note: Dated dd/mm/yyyy

“I write because I feel lonely. Most of the time. I am terrible at keeping friends.  I am a terrible person. Right now if you approach me and ask me to mention three guys who would show up every day for a few drinks after work, trust me, there is none. I’m a terrible person.
I doubt if I had friends back in high school.  Because I don’t remember doing stupid things like sneaking into the girls’ dormitory, or doing drugs or having my ass suspended or kicked out of school because of what I did in a company of my “friends”. I don’t have that history. I don’t remember sending someone with a perfumed letter to some girl from some school and then waiting so eagerly for the reply later in the evening.  I don’t remember.
What do they call people like me? Sociopath, right? Why do I find it so hard to relate with other people? I don’t have someone to share my experiences with. I’m a man and I know that I’m expected by the society to be strong at all times but damn it, I got feelings too. I stopped talking with the few I thought were my friends because: one of them thinks that I screwed his girlfriend, the other one just stopped talking to me because I couldn’t help him financially, which I couldn’t at that time, and the other one has all over sudden become so fancy to an extent that I find it so hard to even call him on phone.
My life is a mess. And today, as I write this journal, I want to let everyone know that I’m really tired. I’m tired of being lonely. I’m tired of faking relationships. I’m tired of all these. And maybe no one is gonna take me seriously but please, try to help me out. I know it’s inappropriate to come to you with my social life issues but this is where there are good doctors, good psychiatrist. Help a friend. Help me. That’s my humble request.”
End of the note.
“And he suddenly knew that if he killed himself, he would die. Maybe not immediately, maybe not with the same blinding rush of pain, but it would happen. You couldn’t live for very long without a heart.”
Jodi Picoult
What I have come to realize is that people go through a lot. Some bad, most of them cruel. We’ve witnessed suicide cases. And most of the time, people commit suicide because of loneliness. No one to talk to. No one to comfort them. No one to help them carry the heavy burden. And these people ask for help in different ways. No one actually listens to them. Just the other day Chester, one of the Linkin Park’s band member committed suicide. And before his death, he actually talked about it in a radio interview. And the journalist laughed about it. Maybe he thought it was one of his jokes.
These people, before committing suicide, try to tell us that things are not okay. Everyday. But we choose not to listen. If I for example say today that I want to kill myself, would you take me seriously? Of course not. “People have their own issues. Issues bigger than yours.” That is what they would say. “You think killing yourself will help solve any of your problems?”  Another would ask.
A suicidal person may not ask for help, but that doesn’t mean that help isn’t wanted. People who take their lives don’t want to die—they just want to stop hurting. Suicide prevention starts with recognizing the warning signs and taking them seriously. If you think a friend or family member is considering suicide, you might be afraid to bring up the subject. But talking openly about suicidal thoughts and feelings can save a life. Let us save a life.

Don’t wait for it to happen.

Make it happen.

Make your own future.

How I Earned My First Respect.

I grew up as an only child. You can imagine all the privileges, the attention, abundant love and all that. My parents were very protective of me. Especially my mum. For all I can remember, she was a no nonsense woman back in the day. She still is. You could never dare come home crying that you had been beaten by some lowless manner-less kid at school or at the playground.

“Don’t you have your hands?” She could say.

“Be a man and stand for yourself.”

Unlike other women who could go after the bully kid, my mom had her way of teaching me how to be a strong person and to always defend myself. And it worked. An incident that I would never forget is when I came home from school crying. I was a new kid in that school and I was only seven years old. Some fat kid had taken my lunch the previous day and threatened to ‘kill’ me had I told anyone. He was big and plump. And tall. And ugly-face. I doubt if he was of our age. Everyone was terrified of him. And he had his crew. A huge bunch of bullies.

“Hey, the new short kid,” he called.

I knew he was calling at me but I decided to ignore him.

“Hey, am I calling you?” He insisted.

He got up from his desk angrily, walked straight towards me and held me by two ears. I floated, a few millimeters above the ground. It hurt. He summarised it with a hot slap. Forget about the bitch slap or any other slap, this one was hotter. I wailed. Everyone burst out into laughter. I was embarrassed. The following day he tried to attack me using the same technique. Being a very tiny kid who had been lectured by his mom on how to defend himself the previous day, and younger (as compared to him), I began to strategise on how to counter his attack. I found one. Quickly. And then I waited for his move. And when he finally invaded my territory, I had no choice but to retaliate. I jumped on him like a baby. With my teeth on his shoulder and hands all over his face. It was dramatic. With everyone cheering. It was him who cried out loudly this time. And when his mother came to attack my mom later in the day, she got her portion of the medicine. And that is how I earned my first respect.

Well, were you ever bullied when you were young? How did you get over it? Please share with us your experinces on the comment box. Huh!! Let’s go.
